Xenophobic Attacks: Foreign Affairs Minister To Hold Talks With South African President

As the Xenophobic attacks on Nigerians and Nigerian owned properties heightens in South Africa, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama and the Ministry of Interior minister, Abdulrahaman Dambazzau have both arrived in South Africa to hold talks with the nation’s president, Jacob Zuma.

Recall that attacks had been carried out on Nigerians and properties belonging to Nigerians by South Africans who claimed Nigerian nationals were taking up businesses in their country.

The meeting between the Nigerian officials and the South African president was made known in a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affair.

The talks will be held with the South African president, Jacob Zuma and the South African Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maite Nkoana Mashabane.

The meeting is expected to be centred on resolving the current plague of xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in the country.
