In an audacious move, Ivorian international, Yaya Toure has given Manchester City till next week to offer him a new three-year contract or he will leave.

Toure has one year left on his £220,000 current deal at the Etihad and wants to extend it by a further three years before the arrival of Pep Guardiola in the summer.

The Citizens had earlier told the midfield stalwart to wait till Guardiola’s arrival before any contract extension can be offered, but it is no secret that Toure and Guardiola are not on the best of terms.

In an interview with SunSport UK, Toure’s agent Dimitry Seluk, said that his client wants to stay at City but he wants the contract concluded not later than next week.

He said the player has already rejected a move to a Chinese club, Jiangsu Suning, who are offering him more than £20 million annually, double his current pay at the Etihad.

Jiangsu Suning are the Chinese big spenders that bought former Chelsea midfielder, Ramires.

Seluk revealed that Toure has promised to donate a £1 million annually from his salary to the Manchester hospital that treated his brother, Ibrahim of cancer, an ailment that later claimed his life.

The four-time African Player of the Year has also vowed he would not play for another English club should he quit City or go to China, but would go to another European giant.
