Jay Z got an unexpected surprise when a 12-year-old gave a spotlight-stealing performance during his Magna Carter World Tour North Carolina performance.  The child’s mother, Angela, said it was her son’s dream, Justin, to get noticed by Jay Z and was crushed when he was overlooked as he sat in the 8th row.  On the way home, she seen how disappointed her son was, show she decided to give it another try and bought tickets to the Greensboro concert the following day.  Angela says she was lucky and was able to score front row seats.  Justin was holding up a sign that read, “Can I rap for you?” and I guess Jay Z could not refuse, inviting the youngster on stage and handing him the microphone.

Justin, who finally was in front of Jay Z and an arena full of screaming fans, grabbed his moment and lived in it.  He began rapping Jay Z’s verse from “Clique” and made sure to steer away from the curse words, but the mindful Jay cut in when the lyrics began talking about some not-age-appropriate things.  Jay told the budding rapper, “skip the drug dealing part” of the song and to “Go back to the numbers.”  Justin did, and he killed it, sending the crowd into a frenzy!!

Jay, smiling his signature grin, gives the youngin’ a hug and is asked one more request, “Can I meet you backstage?”  Jay Z obliged him there too.  How cool is that?!

Angela says Jay Z noticing her son and bringing him up on stage was not set up and everything happened organically.  Jay, kept his word and met with his young admirer backstage.  After the show they talked for about 5 minutes and exchanged numbers but according to reports Jay did not make any promises about signing the kid.  I am sure Young Justin is still smiling and probably signing autographs himself after rapping onstage with Jay Z.
