Two persons have been killed and four vehicles razed in Nnewi, Anambra State, as the sit-at-home order declared by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) commenced across the South-East geopolitical zone on Monday.

Residents were said to have woken up to see two dead bodies of young men laying beside the Nnewi Roundabout as of 6 am, and no one could seem to explain how they died.

This is as residents confirmed hearing sporadic gunshots in the Izuchukwu area of the city at dawn.

It was further learnt that three buses and one Toyota Camry were burnt by unknown assailants enforcing the IPOB order.

The driver of the car was said to have taken to his heels to avoid being lynched.

Also, roads and major streets were deserted while markets, offices, banks and other public places remained closed in the city.
