2 Women In Court For Alleged Theft Of Mobile Phones

Two women, Adeola Adedeji, 20, and Sewa Ojo, 30, on Friday appeared in a Modakeke Magistrates’ Court in Osun for alleged theft of phones and some cash.

They were arraigned on a three-count charge of conspiracy, stealing and assault.

Prosecutor Kehinde Adeoye told the court that the defendant committed the offence in January, 2016 at 7 a.m. at Iraye, Modakeke, in Ife North East Local Government of Osun.

Adeoye said Adedeji and Ojo conspired and stole one Galaxy Tab 3 handset, one Tecno handset, one golden wristwatch with some cash belonging to Kehinde Agboola, valued N48,600.

He said the offence contravened Section 383 (1) and punishable under sections 351, 390 (9) and 516 of the Penal Code.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Their Counsel, Mr Victor Arojo, applied for the bail of his clients in most liberal term, and promised that they would not jump bail.

The Senior Magistrate, Mrs Bose Awosan, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N30,000 with one surety each in like sum.

Awosan said each of the surety must swear to affidavit of means, be a family member as well as produce two recent passport photographs.

She adjourned the case till March 30 for hearing. (NAN)
