2015 Elections: Israeli Company Denies Hacking Buhari’s Records

An Israeli private intelligence firm, Black Cube, has denied working with Cambridge Analytica to hack financial and medical records of President Muhammadu Buhari in the build up to the 2015 general elections.

Recall that a UK paper, Observer had reported how London-based Cambridge Analytica was contracted by an unnamed Nigerian billionaire to influence the election in favour of incumbent, President Goodluck Jonathan.

A whistle blower, Christopher Wylie, told a British parliament committee how Cambridge Analytica’s parent company, SCL Elections, worked with Black Cube to hack Buhari’s records.

“The company (Cambridge Analytica) utilised the services of an Israeli private intelligence firm, Black Cube.

“Black Cube on the Nigeria campaign was engaged to hack the now-President Buhari to get access to his medical records and private emails,” Jerusalem Post quoted Wylie to have said.

However, Black Cube refuted Wylie’s statement, describing it as a “flagrant lie”, The Cable reported.

The firm said, “Whilst we are flattered that we are seemingly being connected with every international incident that occurs, we will state that Chris Wylie’s testimony is a flagrant lie.”
