2016 Budget: Lawmakers Agree To Edit Out ‘Paddings’

The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has been reported to be warming up to receive yet another edited copy of the 2016 budget.

Recall that the 2016 budget has been plagued with several paddings, budget cuts and overall removal and disappearance of some projects.

The President in a closed door meeting last week reached an agreement with the lawmakers to remove most of the unbudgeted projects from the budget altogether

According to Vanguard news, a reliable source revealed that the lawmakers have since repented and found the inclusion of other projects for pecuniary gains unconstitutional.

Adding that the lawmakers have since understood how wrong it is to introduce projects without the due notification and consideration of the President, an action which ursurps the functions of the Executive arm of government.
