A former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Privatisation, Sen. Ayo Arise, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari deserves a second term in office.

Arise spoke with newsmen in his home in Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State on Wednesday.

According to the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Buhari’s second term agenda will succeed despite the series of high-profile defections that hit the party recently.

The ex-senator said that the gang-up between Senate President Bukola Saraki, Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, former Kano governor, Sen. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and others would fail to stop Buhari in 2019.

Arise stated that Buhari has been able to put Nigeria’s economy back on track in less than four years after 16 years of mismanagement by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

He said, “Although some Nigerians believed that the president ought to have completely turned around the whole country economy in less than four years, but the fact remains that, nobody can provide all infrastructures needed in a particular nation within a four year tenure.”

“It will be a great injustice or error of political judgement to believe Nigeria woes could be completely nipped in the bud within a four year regime after an ignoble PDP sixteen years in the country.
