A former presidential aide, Dr. Doyin Okupe says he is the vice presidential candidate of Labour Party for the 2023 general election.
He stated this on Friday during an appearance on popular Channels Television programme, “Politics Today”.
The medical doctor-turned-politician doubles as the Director General of the Peter Obi Campaign Organisation.
Okupe said naming him was a temporary arrangement to beat the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for political parties to submit the names of their presidential running mates.
“I’m standing in as the vice-presidential candidate of the party.
“Labour party has submitted my name as the VP of the party,” he said.
