2023 presidency: Northern APC vows to ensure Tinubu, Shettima’s emergence

The All Progressives Congress (APC) North West Zone has vowed to work to ensure the emergence of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Senator Kashim Shettima as president and vice-president in 2023.

This is contained in a statement by APC Zonal Publicity Secretary (North West), Malam Musa Mailafiya Mada released on Monday.

According to the statement, the resolution was made during a stopover in Dutse, Jigawa State in the couse of the APC North West Zonal Tour by a team led by Zonal Vice Chairman, Malam Salihu Lukman.

“The North West Zonal Tour of the All Progressives Congress continues in Dutse the Jigawa State Capital where Malam Salihu Lukman led team meets with the party’s stakeholders in the state on Monday 11th July 2022.

“Prominent among issues raised at the meeting is the emergence of Senator Kashim Shattima as the running mate of the Party’s Presidential Candidate Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and how the Zone should position itself in bringing victory to the party at all levels.

“Participants resolved to work for the unity of party members and stronger commitment to mobilise Nigerians to vote to elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Sen. Kashim Shettima as the next President and Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and all candidates of the APC in the 2023 general elections.

“Another important issue discussed at the meeting is the ongoing voter registration exercise which the participants have taken note that the exercise is moving extremely slow due to the inadequacy of capturing systems which results to the poor outcome recorded by the geographical Zone.

“Lukman went ahead and inform the participants that all the issues raised during the interaction will be reflected in his report at the end of the tour for proper documentation and action.

“The Executive Governor of Jigawa State Alh. Badaru Abubakar who was represented by his deputy and the party gubernatorial candidate in the state Alh. Umar Namadi thanked Salihu Lukman led party officials for visiting the state for a fact finding mission.

“The Deputy Governor enumerated measures taken to strengthen the party in the state. The measures includes among other things, establishment of reconciliation committee which is saddled with the responsibility of reaching out to aggrieved party members for reconciliation. Another committee established by the Jigawa State Government is that of the voter registrations which is charged with the responsibility of ensuring a success of the exercise in the state,” Mada’s statement read.
