2023: Tinubu’s supporters reject consensus candidacy

A pro-Tinubu group, the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), has said it would not support any move by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to pick its 2023 presidential candidature through consensus.

Chairman of the group, Senator Dayo Adeyeye stated this after National Leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu picked up the presidential expression of interest and nomination forms of the party in Abuja on Friday.

Adeyeye said every aspirant must be allowed to test their popularity in the convention.

Some of Tinubu’s opponents for the party’s ticket are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Minister of Labour, Senator Chris Ngige, Governor of Ebonyi, Dave Umahi and former Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun,
