28 Suspects arrested for supposed Cultism, Human trafficking, Rape in Edo

28 people have been arrested by The Edo Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC)  for various crimes ranging from rape to Human trafficking in Edo State.

Mr Makinde Ayinla, who is a Commandant of the Defense Corps, said the suspects were arrested by various specialized units and departments of the corps in the command.

Ayinla said the Intelligence and Investigation Department of the Command had arrested 11 suspects for alleged cultism, vandalism, fraud and extortion of money, as well as other grave offenses.

Three vehicles were also recovered, in connection with the crimes perpetuated by the suspects. He also made known to the fact that the Anti Trafficking and illegal Migration Unit had arrested six suspects for suspected human trafficking, child abduction, child labor, and rape., in the process, also rescued two missing children.

Ayinla stated that the the Anti Fraud Unit within the period handled 10 cases with about N200, 000 recovered. The Peace and Conflict Resolution Unit also handled 10 cases, adding that five of the cases had been resolved, while two were yet to be resolved and three transferred.
