Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has sparked major reactions online after proposing to Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru, in a viral video circulating on social media.
The clip, which surfaced on Thursday, showed the iconic singer and the lawmaker dancing intimately in the presence of friends before 2Baba went down on one knee to present her with a ring. The moment was sealed with a warm embrace, further fueling discussions about their romance.
The proposal comes just a day after 2Baba publicly confirmed his romantic involvement with Osawaru, following increasing speculation about their closeness. Social media users had earlier raised eyebrows after the singer was spotted at the Edo State Assembly and later seen partying with Osawaru at a Lagos club.
Breaking his silence, 2Baba took to Instagram on Tuesday to address the rumors and set the record straight.
“Allegedly, I have been seeing so many things, so many people coming up with their own false narratives and malicious nonsense after I posted that stuff that I posted. Yes, I posted what I posted,” he stated in the video.
Speaking on Osawaru’s alleged involvement in his marital crisis, he added:
“Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labeled as a home breaker.
“She is a young, brilliant, amazing woman and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage.
“Yes, I love her, she is amazing, she is cool, I want to marry her.”
2Baba’s proposal to Osawaru follows reports of his separation from his wife, actress Annie Idibia. While the couple has faced public scrutiny and past controversies, this latest development has reignited discussions about their marriage and 2Baba’s decision to move on.
