1. Olamide is a university dropout
The singer and rapper attended Tai Solarin University of Education in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, where he studied Mass Communication but had to drop out due to financial difficulties.
2. He’s the first Nigerian ambassador for Ciroc
In 2013, Olamide was announced as the first Nigerian artist to be signed as a brand ambassador for the alcoholic beverage Ciroc. He joined the likes of international acts such as Rick Ross and DJ Khaled in representing the brand.
3. Before YBNL, Olamide was signed to Coded Tunes
Before founding the now-renowned music label YBNL (Yahoo Boy No Laptop), Olamide signed his first record deal in 2011 with Coded Tunes, owned by ID Cabasa. Under this deal, he released his debut album, Rapsodi.

4. Olamide is known for releasing albums almost every year
Olamide has built a reputation as one of the few Nigerian artists to consistently drop projects nearly every year. He continues this streak with the release of Olamidé this year, following his EP Ikigai released last year.
5. Olamide co-wrote Wale’s 2017 hit “My Love”
According to BMI, Olamide is credited as a songwriter on Wale’s “My Love,” which features Dua Lipa and Wizkid.
