One of the signs of a good life is by having a healthy life, which is very paramount. Good health is a sign of a good life, it also signifies that you are taking good care of yourself and your mental health is okay.

A positive mental health is also part of a healthy lifestyle.

There are several factors that affect us a human beings, and it is not limited to anxiety or depression.

The recent state of Nigeria’s economy, the level of unemployment, lack of funds, insecurity and even inflation rate, lack of fuel and increase in flight ticket also contribute to the mental state.

Before you say you have the answer to why you have not been able to maintain or lose weight, take a look at your pantry, your fridge, your diet and daily routine.

Diet

Let’s start with the factor that we are all familiar with; the diet. You need to watch what you put into your body, avoid fatty foods if you are trying to lose weight.

A healthy lifestyle consists of a great diet. Rethink your diet if you are not eating proper foods or consuming enough nutrient.

Be sure to consult your doctor or a nutritionist about your diet.

Exercise

Consider this a sign for you to regularly exercise your body. Exercise is very good for your body, and especially your heart.

Running to catch a bus or walking through a crowd does not count as an exercise, if you were wondering. I know right!

You need to be intentional about your exercise. Do not sit in your chair on lay o your bed all day.

Take a stroll, jog, skip, swim, play sports or run. Not having a gym membership is not an excuse to not exercise.

Meditation

As a Nigerian you might be wondering how this might help (as the nation is loud and we are not used to meditation). Meditating actually helps your mind.

It clears the soul and helps you achieve a healthy lifestyle and mental health.

Do this as often as you need to.

Choose water over soda

It is time for you to switch your unhealthy drinks for water! Yes you!

Think about the calories, the sugar and acid that you are consuming.

Switch soda for healthy drinks and water. If you want a fresh drink, you can blend fruits and consume it.

Good health

Remember the saying health is wealth? Well, it is true.

You enjoy life more when you are in good health. Take care of yourself, use multivitamins and pay attention to your health.

Know when your body needs to take a break and be sure to rest well.
