Conspiracy theories have been spread by pastors, actresses and political figures about the dangers of the technology saying it’s the leading cause of the global Coronavirus pandemic.

Some political figures even urged the Nigerian government not to grant 5G licenses to telecommunications companies in the country.

Powis called the conspiracy theories absolutely rubbish and declared that he was outraged at the destruction of National infrastructure during a health emergency.

“The reality is that the mobile phone networks are absolutely critical to all of us, particularly in a time when we’re asking people to stay at home and not to see relatives and friends.

“But in particular they are also the phone networks that are used by our emergency services and our health workers,” he said.

The UK had recorded at least 500 deaths daily from the Coronavirus this week with fears it could go up.

4,313 people have died from the Coronavirus in the UK as at Friday. 41,903 people have also been infected across the country.
