The House of Representatives has introduced a new bill seeking to elongate the single term of the President, Governors and Senators from 4 years to 6 years

John Dyegh of the All Progressives Congress (APC) sponsored a bill that will change the tenure of President, Governors and members of the House of Assembly from 4 years of two terms to a single term of 6 years.

John Dyegh is representing Gboko/Tarka Federal constituency of Benue state.

However, the introduction of the bill has raised eyebrows as there have been speculations of President Buhari making a third term bid for the Presidency.
