Adefuye Teslim, a 70-year-old man was arrested in Ogun by the Ogun State Police Command for reportedly raping a 13-year-old girl at the Parapete area of Ago Iwoye on Sunday, April, 22, 2018.
The 70-year-old suspect was arrested when Mariam Kareem,the mother of the victim tipped off the police that her teenage daughter was lured into an apartment by the suspect where he violated her.
The suspect warned her daughter not to tell anyone the mum added.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the state Police Public Relations Officer, stated that the victim, after feeling pain around her Vaginal area, informed her mother, who then reported the case to the police at the Ago-Iwoye division.
Ade Adedoyin, the Divisional Police Officer, scrambled detectives to the scene where they apprehended the suspect.
The victim was taken to the General Hospital, in Ago Iwoye, where medical tests revealed that she had in fact been raped.
Ahmed Iliyasu, the state Commissioner of Police, has ordered that the case be transferred to the Anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Abeokuta, for investigation and prosecution of the suspect.
