A Yoruba elder and prominent member of the Kano community where he resided, Alhaji Ganiyu Akanbi Bello was murdered by unknown assassins as he slept in his bed in his Nasarawa GRA home in Kano.
Family members reported that the lifeless body of Akanbi Bello was discovered around 11 am with his entrails ripped out.
Several knife wounds to the man’s stomach were said to be the cause of death.
Police reportedly arrived at the scene to find the elderly man laying in a pool of his own blood.
Kano Police spokesman, Alhaji Magaji Musa Majia said that the Police were investigating his death.
