95 candidates to contest Kuje Area Council chairmanship, councillorship election on Saturday

Ninety-five candidates will contest Saturday’s area council election in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Mrs Zainab Gbefwi, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Electoral Officer for the area, disclosed this on Friday, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

She spoke during the sorting and distribution of electoral materials in the area.

She said that 15 candidates were vying for chairmanship position, while the remaining 80 were contesting for councillorship for the 10 electoral wards in the area council.

The electoral officer said that the incumbent chairman of the council area, Abdulahi Galadima of the APC, was among the chairman candidates.

The electoral officer said that SDP, PDP, among others fielded candidates.

Gbefwi said that all election materials have been sorted and that the commission was ready for the Saturday’s FCT elections in the area. (NAN)
