Pornography website, Pornhub said 9.1 million searches for “coronavirus” or “covid” have been recorded on its site.

It said the searches were recorded in the last 30 days, with 1.5 million being recorded on March 5 alone, although it has been declining since then. On March 16, the site logged 427,504 searches for sexy COVID-19 content.

Giving a breakdown of the searches by country, Pornhub said visitors from Slovakia were 119% more likely to search for coronavirus or COVID-19 related content. This was followed by Bulgaria and Ireland with 88%.

This is just as it said its worldwide traffic spiked by 11.6%, increasing from 120 million on a normal day to 134 million, as many countries go into lockdown and more people work from home to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Pornhub said the highest website traffic was recorded between March 8 and March 17, with many people grappling with boredom during self-isolation and social distancing. It said on March 17, US traffic spiked by 6.4%.

The site said on March 12 that it granted free premium access to visitors across Italy, and witnessed a 57% spike in traffic. Coronavirus has already killed 3405 people as of Thursday in the European nation.

Pornhub said it did same in Spain and France on March 16, and witnessed 61.3% and 38.2% increase in traffic respectively.
