Less than 48hours after the First lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mrs. Aisha Buhari arrived in the US with an eye-catching Hermes Birkin bag estimated to be worth about $105,000 (40 million naira), the wife of Singapore’s Prime Minister, Ms Ho Ching arrived at the White House for a ceremony carrying the blue and white dinosaur motif pouch estimated to be worth about $11.
Ms Ho was seen carrying the pouch at the arrival ceremony which held at the White House South Lawn where the President of the United States, Barack Obama and the first lady, Michelle Obama welcomed Mr Lee and Ms Ho.
Following the sighting of the fashion accessory, the pouch which is sold to promote talents of people living with autism has since sold out.
According to the school principal running the platform, Linda Kho, Pathlight (the school) never expected the Prime Minister’s wife to take the pouch along with her.
She said: “We were pleasantly surprised and honoured that she chose to bring this bag on her official visit. It gave such a great mileage for the artist on our Artist Development Programme (ADP).
“She is known to be very down to earth and practical and the fact that she carries less than $20 Singapore dollars pouch to such a world stage event shows she is really confident and authentic.”
