Abba Kyari drags FG to court over detention in NDLEA facility

Embattled Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari has dragged the Federal Government to court over his continued detention by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

In the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/182/22, the suspended senior policeman is praying the Federal High Court to either order his immediate release from detention or grant him bail in liberal terms.

Recall that Kyari was arrested by the police alongside four other officers – ACP Sunday Ubuah, ASP James Bawa, Inspectors Simon Agrigba and John Nuhu –  on Monday and handed over to the NDLEA.

The suspects allegedly tampered with narcotics exhibits recovered from two drug mules at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.

Justice Inyang Ekwo is expected to rule on the ex-parte application today.
