Abba Kyari: We Were Barred From Aso Rock, So What? – Garba Shehu

Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President, Garba Shehu has reiterated that being barred from Aso Rock was a normal procedure for VIPs who attended the burial of late chief of Staff, Abba Kyari.

Garba Shehu was reacting to reports that said all officials of the Presidency who attended the burial was barred from gaining access to Aso Rock by the first lady.

While some people took it as a sign of a brewing storm in the villa, Garba Shehu said it was a standard treatment as Abba Kyari had died of Coronavirus.

The special assistant said the exclusion from the villa was in line with directives from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) which recommends a 14 day isolation period.

“There is nothing extraordinary about those of us who attend Abba Kyari’s funeral being advised to distance ourselves from the Villa.”

“This is in line with the standard rules put in place by the National Center for Disease Control, @NCDCgov and the Federal Ministry of Health. You do these things to stop the spread of #Coronavirus.
