Abba Kyari’s Burial: FG tenders Apology for Violating Social Distancing Rule (VIDEO)

Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman, Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19 has tendered an apology to Nigerians over the total disregard of social distancing rule at the burial of Abba Kyari.

Photos of top government officials standing close to each other at Kyari’s burial amid COVID-19 crisis sparked public outrage as Nigerians berated and called for the prosecution of the burial attendees who pose a health risk to other citizens.

However, Boss Mustapha has apologized for the ‘unintentional violation of social distancing guidelines” at the burial of late CoS, Abba Kyari. He tendered the apology at the daily Press briefing on COVID-19 in Abuja on Monday, April, 20.

“The PTF recognises regrettably the unintentional violation of the principles and protocols that form the core of our messages to Nigerians at the funeral of the late Chief of Staff. These principles for emphasis include the guiidance provided on mass gatherings, social distancing, personal hygiene and restriction of movement.

 

“Lessons have been learnt and appropriate measures have been taken to close all gaps.  We assure all Nigerians of their safety and the determination of the PTF to combat the pandemic.”
