The body of a cousin to the former President Goodluck Jonathan who was abducted along with the former president’s uncle, Chief Inegite Jonathan, has on Friday been recovered by fishermen in Otuoke, Bayelsa State.

The deceased cousin, Samuel Oki, was found by fishermen floating on the Otuoke river two days after his abduction.

Recall that on Wednesday, armed men abducted the 72-year-old foster father to the former President, Chief Inegite Jonathan, along with the 35-year-old cousin, Samuel Oki whose disappearance was not noticed until hours later after the abduction.

Fishermen who found the decomposing body had reportedly anchored it to the riverside to prevent the body from being carried away by water currents.

A family member, Igbogamini Paul, expressed fears for the safety of the uncle while disclosing that the gunshot heard during the abduction process was believed to have been aimed at the deceased.

The deceased’s body has since been deposited in the morgue as sympathisers have been trooping into the Otuoke residence of the abducted Chief.

The abductors are yet to initiate contact with the family of the abducted Chief since his abduction.
