Nigerian actor Daniel Etim Effiong has opened up about maintaining boundaries with female admirers during a heartfelt conversation with his wife, Toyosi Effiong.
The couple, who have been married for seven years, revisited their love story in a series titled “7 Years Later: Our Love Story – The ETIM-EFFIONGS,” released on Toyosi’s YouTube channel. The first episode of the series, inspired by the “21 Questions” game they played on their first date, explores challenges and growth in their marriage.
One of the key moments in the episode came when Toyosi asked Daniel about handling attention from female admirers, recounting the early years of their marriage when she often went through his phone due to her investigative instincts.
“Year one and year two were a bit rough,” Toyosi admitted. “There was a lot of attention from women, and I was almost losing my mind. I’d figure out your password, go through your phone, and find out who this person was.”
In response, Daniel assured her that he had always had measures in place to maintain boundaries and that he continues to improve on them.
“I’ve always had measures in place, but I guess my toolbox is getting equipped with better measures as I grow. I’ve learned to have boundaries,” he explained.
