Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has lauded the management of the NYSC for their efforts in exposing many fake graduates at orientation camps.

Fintiri made this commendation while declaring open the 2019 Batch ‘C’ Stream One orientation course for corps members deployed to Adamawa on Thursday in Yola.

He said that the effort of the NYSC management in exposing fake graduates was laudable.

“I must commend the management of the NYSC scheme for devising a means of tracking down fake graduates as well as those with certificates from ‘kangaroo’ universities.

“For the management’s ability to weed them out of the system; it is indeed, a positive development to our educational sector,” Fintiri said.

He congratulated the corps members on graduation from their respective higher institutions of learning, which qualified them for the national service.

Fintiri enjoined the corps members to develop a positive attitude while in camp and after their deployment and see the service as a challenge rather than a problem.

In his address, Mallam Ibrahim Tukur, the state coordinator of the NYSC, equally lauded the state government for the generous assistance being rendered to corps members.

Tukur said the assistance both in cash and kind to augment their feeding, accommodation and other essential services, had boosted the morale of not only the corps members but the camp officials.

“Your Excellency, indeed you have made our work easier as far as this orientation camp is concerned.
“This is what informed our national directorate headquarters to select your Chief of Staff Prof. Maxwell Gidado to be a guest lecturer” to deliver a paper on this occasion.
“The paper is entitled: “Responsibilities of state governments and other
stakeholders in achieving the NYSC mandate as enshrined in the NYSC Act”.
