AFCON Qualifiers: We’ll Revenge Our Humiliation By South Africa – Ahmed Musa

2 Min Read

Super Eagles winger, Ahmed Musa has not forgotten the team’s humiliation by the Bafana Bafana of South Africa during the first AFCON qualifier game in Uyo in June 2017.

As he was part of the team that lost 2-0 that fateful day, Musa believes that the Eagles can go to Johannesburg for the return fixture on November 17 and get their pound of flesh.

Asked if he felt under pressure ahead of the game, the Al Nassr forward said, “I don’t think so, South Africa are under pressure not Nigeria, so I think next month we are going there even for a point.

“We remember what they did to us in Uyo, we are going there for revenge.”

Speaking about the Super Eagles’s lucky escape in the return fuixture against Libya in Tunis, Musa said,  ”We got the three points, we talked to ourselves in the beginning of the game that we need the game.

“We don’t have to lose, if we are not getting a win, let’s go for a draw but in the 81st minute we got the win and we are very happy for the win.”
