An 18yr old African American identified as Damire Canell Palmer has been arressted by police for attacking a White employee at Macy’s unprovoked in a video that went viral on social media during the height of the Black Lives Matter Protests in the United States.

The African American gave the White Macy’s manager a serious beat down while being filmed claiming that the employee called him the N word.

He claimed at the time that he beat the employee of the store out of instinct upon being called N****. Although he fled immediately after the attack.

Macy’s however disputed the claim saying it’s employee was attacked unprovoked.

Palmer was arrested on Thursday evening and charged with felony assault with intent to do great bodily harm.

The video of the assault showed the African American aggressively landing several blows on the 50 yr old Manager as he repeatedly asked his attacker what he did to deserve the beating.

According to Genesee County investigators, there was no evidence that the Macy’s manager said anything to provoke Palmer who was caught on surveillance tape just waking around before going to punch the manager in the head.

David Leyton, County prosecutor said at the time of the attack;

“This was an unprovoked attack on a Macy’s employee. This behavior, as seen on the video, is unacceptable, it is criminal and it cannot be allowed.”

“We don’t believe any racial slur was made by the store manager, and even if there had been, it does not condone nor justify the assault by Mr. Palmer.”

Palmer was also charged with misdemeanor retail fraud and faces up to 10 years in Prison if convicted on the Felony assault charge alone.

His brother who filmed the beat down video will not be charged.
