The Convener, Concerned Nigerians, Deji Adeyanju, has highlighted the sheer hypocrisy of politicians that give credit to God for their electoral victory after deploying thugs and engaging in vote buying to influence the outcome.

Adeyanju spoke on Wednesday as the 2023 general election wrapped up across the country with the declaration of winners in the March 18 governorship and state house of assembly elections in some states.

The Herald can report that the just-concluded elections were marred by incidents of thuggery, ballot box snatching, voter suppression, and vote buying.

On Saturday, March 18, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) disclosed that it arrested 65 persons for vote buying across the country.

In his tweet, Adeyanju said, “Nigerian politicians give credit to God after rigging elections not their thugs or vote buying.”
