Cases of building collapse seem to have become a regular phenomenon in Lagos after yet another storey building was reduced to rubbles in the Fagba area of the State.
Although no deaths were recorded, at least 12 persons were said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries.
The three-storey building is said to have been under construction and the incident occurred late in the night when most of those working on it had left.
While revealing the details of the event to newsmen, Lagos State Emergency Management boss, Olufemi Oke Osanyintolu stated, “This is just to inform you that a three-story building collapsed at K Farm, Fagba, Off Iju Road. It was a building under construction. The people there have been evacuated and the injured are responding to treatment. No mortalities recorded. All the Key Stakeholders that are important in managing disaster in Lagos are on ground.
“However the building will be pulled to ground zero for safety of the people living in the area. All the buildings adjacent/beside the collapsed building will be subjected to solid material testing. For your information.”
