Again, Pro Biafra Agitators Take To The Streets In Aba

1 Min Read

At least 2000 pro-Biafra protesters took to the streets of Aba, the commercial capital of Abia State, demanding the release of detained Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.

The protesters, who are members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), were also demanding the creation of the sovereign state of Biafra.

The protesters, according to AFP, waved placards bearing messages such as “Biafra or death”, while one was seen shredding a Nigerian flag, saying the country was “dead and buried”.

This is coming despite several warnings by security forces including the police and military that the protests were illegal and constituted a threat to peaceful co-existence in the country.

It will be recalled that many states of the South East and South South geo-political zones were embroiled in civil disturbances by protesters demanding Kanu’s release and the right to self-determination.
