Aguero breaks Thierry Henry’s record as Manchester City trashes Aston Villa

Sergio Aguero became the highest oversea goalscorer in the history of the English Premier League breaking Thierry Henry’s record as Manchester City thrashed Aston Villa 6-1.

In the match, the Argentine equalled Henry’s record and then went level with Lampard’s 177 goals record.

Aguero also scored his 12th Premier League hat-trick, a league record. The 32-year-old trails Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney and Andy Cole in the all-time EPL goal scorers.

Aguero’s hat-trick formed part of 6-1 mauling of Aston Villa, it’s the club’s biggest loss since losing 6-0 to Liverpool at the Villa Park in 2016.

Ryad Mahrez scored two and Gabriel Jesus got on the scoresheet.

City moves up to second on the log, 14 points behind league leaders Liverpool having played a game more.
