Aisha Buhari critic, Aminu Muhammad, apologises to First Lady

Aminu Muhammad, the 500-level student of Federal University Dutse, Jigawa State, has apologised to First Lady, Aisha Buhari.

Recall that Muhammad was recently arrested, allegedly brutalised and arraigned in court for criticising the First Lady.

The case has since been withdrawn and the young man freed following outcry from Nigerians.

Taking to Twitter on Saturday, Muhammad appreciated all those that intervened in his ordeal, including the National Union of Nigerian Students (NANS).

He also apologised to the First Lady for causing her embarrassment.

“I would like to use this medium to express my sincere apologies to those I’ve hurt especially our mother, Aisha Buhari.

“It was never my intention to hurt your feelings and insha Allah I will change for the better.

“However, I’m also grateful for your forgiveness, thank u mama,” he tweeted.

Switching to Hausa, the student wrote, “I would like to thank all the people of the world, the people of Nigeria, the Nigerian Students, the Nigerian Students Association (NANS), for the help you have given, may God bless you and guide you.”

He added on Sunday, “To Nigerian students association (NANS), words can’t describe how much grateful I am for your support and guidance.

“You and the general public are what made my freedom to be possible after God. Thank you.”
