First Lady Aisha Buhari’s spokesman, Mr. Aliyu Abdullahi has refused to disclose the whereabouts of his principal, saying she has a right to privacy.

There have been reports that the First Lady has relocated to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) since she has not be seen in public for a while.

However, Abdullahi said Aisha Buhari has a right to her privacy despite being married to the president.

He added that she decides whether to disclose her whereabouts or not.

“The First Lady, although married to the President, nevertheless, she is a citizen of this country and she is entitled to her own right to privacy. That is her right and she does not choose to speak at this particular time,” Abdullahi said on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

Earlier in the interview, Abdullahi faulted the anchor, Kayode Okikiolu for ambushing him with a question on the First Lady’s whereabouts.

“I am sorry, Kayode, this is not part of what I was actually invited here to discuss in your studio.

“I will not be speaking on that because it is not part of what we agreed for me to come and discuss. So, let us leave that issue out of the interview please,” he said.

Aisha Buhari was said to have moved to Dubai in September, claiming that the Aso Rock Villa was no longer secure for her family following a shooting incident there.
