The Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu has ordered the sack of Mr Allen Sowore, Special Assistant on New Media to the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi.

Sowore was reportedly sacked for recording and circulating the viral video which showed the state’s Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami barring Ajayi from exiting his official quarters in the Government House.

In a statement signed by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olusegun Ajiboye on Tuesday, the state government said the sack was with immediate effect.

“The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has relieved Mr Allen Sowore of his appointment with immediate effect.

“Until his sack, Mr Sowore was a Special Assistant to the governor on New Media.

“Mr Sowore is advised to submit all government’s properties in his possession to the Chief of Staff to the Governor.

“The Governor wishes him the best of luck in his future endeavour,” the statement read.

Ajayi had defected from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Sunday.

He has however vowed not to resign as Deputy Governor no matter the intimidation.
