Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel has said that work will soon commence on the $1.5 billion petrochemical plant located in Ibeno.
Emmanuel while speaking with journalists said “We have done the environmental impact assessment, the Certificate of Occupancy (C-of-O) has been issued and site has been cleared and ready for work to start. Once the gas purchase agreement with Exxon Mobile is finalised, work will commence immediately.”
He added that once work starts, the plant will generate a lot of employment opportunities for Akwa Ibom Citizens.
