Akwa Ibom Governor gifts $50,000 to Super Eagles

The Akwa Ibom state governor, Udom Emmanuel has redeemed his pledge of $10,000 per goal for the match against Cameroon.

He further urged the Super Eagles to go all out for a win against Zambia on Saturday.

The Governor has promised to reward the team if they succeed at qualifying for the FIFA World cup for the sixth time.

The Super Eagles need a win against Zambia on Saturday to secure a spot in FIFA World cup.

The governor said, “I’m happy that we are not taking this for granted and have been monitoring the Zambians are extremely so serious about this game.”

“It is as if they have never played football before, this game is like a do or die for them.”

“They seek permission from us to bring in 400 supporters but I’m sure on Saturday you will see a whole of former governors coming just to support you (Eagles) because we value our national colours, we value the county the county that we come from.”
