Ali Modu Sheriff Makes new move Against PDP

1 Min Read

As the war within PDP rages on, ousted party chairman Ali Modu Sheriff has made a move to stop the proposed National Convention that is to take place in Rivers State, in August.

It initially seemed the crisis within the party was over when it was reported that Sheriff and Makarfi had come together for a peace meeting in Taraba state,  however it is not the case.

The convention approved by INEC was planned with the PDP caretaker committee led by Makarfi.

Sheriff approached the Federal High Court Abuja to apply for an order of interlocutory injunction restraining the convention.

If successful, Sheriff also wants the backing of the police through court order to make sure the injunction is enforced.

Along with Sheriff in this new move are; Olisa Metuh, Wale Oladapo, Dennis Alonge-Niyi, Alhaji Bashir Maidugu, Hanatu Ulam, Lawa Dutsima Anchi and Okey Nnadozie.

No date has been fixed for the hearing.
