All Share Index Gains 0.72% Despite Weak Demand

Despite weak demand today, the All Share Index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange appreciated by 0.72% after a 4 day break. It gained 0.38% at the last trading session on Wednesday. The primary index added 219.12 basis points to begin the week, closing at 30,762.29 basis points. Market Capitalization for the market at the close of trading today was N10.57 trillion.

The total number of deals recorded on the floor increased by 12.42%, while the total volume of shares traded on the floor reduced by 42.89% after increasing by 124.93% at the last trading session. The total value of transactions reduced by 27.19% against an increase of 39.25% at the last trading session.

The top five most actively traded shares on the exchange today were UBA, GUARANTY, ZENITHBANK, ACCESS and ASOSAVINGS led the activity chart with a combined total of 182 million shares.

Market breadth closed positive as NESTLE led 25 Gainers against 20 Losers led by SEPLAT.

Year-To-Date currently stands at -11.23%.
