Alleged Fraud: How Fani-Kayode, Others Got Billions Before 2015 Election – EFCC

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) may soon invite former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode for questioning concerning purported transfers of huge sums of money into his personal account in the build-up to the 2015 presidential election.

Aside Fani-Kayode, the EFCC may also invite Goodluck Support Group, Chief Olu Falae, Achike Udenwa, Nenadi Usman, Viola Onwuliri and Okey Ezenwa in for questioning.

According to The Nation, these Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwarts, associates and group have been named in an investigation of alleged fraud totally N3.145 billion paid into their personal or company accounts through the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Fani-Kayode was the Media and Publicity chief of the Goodluck/Sambo campaign organisation, Olu Falae is the National Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Chief Achikwe Udenwa is a former Governor of Imo State, Mrs Nenadi Usman served as Minister of Finance, while Viola Onwuliri is a former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

The report quoted a source in the EFCC as saying that Fani-Kayode got N840 million, Goodluck Support Group N320 million, Falae N100 million (through his firm, Marreco Limited), Udenwa and Onwuliri N350 million, Nenadi Usman N36.9 million, Okey Ezenwa N100 million.

Also being investigated is the personality behind Joint Trust Dimension Nigeria Limited, an account that was initially used to warehouse the funds before they were allegedly disbursed to the mentioned beneficiaries, the report stated.
