A 47-year-old American man, Jason Roy Hutchinson, has been arrested in Brazil for paying the mother of an underage girl in order to sleep with the daughter.
Hutchinson was arrested by Brazilian police in Rio de Janeiro as he was sleeping with the 14-year-old girl in a posh hotel in the Copacabana area.
He is being held on prostitution-related charges.
The Californian man told detectives that he was supposed to travel with his doctor-wife but she could not make the journey as she had to treat COVID-19 patients.
The Sun reported that the victim’s mother, who sat in an adjoining room as the sexcapade occurred, was also arrested on similar charges to Hutchinson.

Local reports later identified her as Sarai Bastos Santos.
Surveillance footage showed Hutchinson kissing the girl in the lobby of the hotel before taking her into his room.
He was said to have procured plane tickets for the mother, the girl and her 2-year-old brother to fly to Rio de Janeiro for the act.
Although he admitted travelling alone so that he could have sex with the girl, he claimed he did not know her age.
Police Officer, Felipe Santoro said, “We believe the victim has been sexually exploited for some time, since her mother doesn’t work and she accompanies her daughter on various trips.
“She even instructed her on how to act with clients.”
