One Hour after Aminu resigns, New Speaker emerges in Kaduna Assembly

Barely one hour after Aminu Abdullahi Shagali tendered his resignation letter amid rumour of impeachment, Hon. Yusuf Ibrahim Zailani has emerged the new Speaker of the Kaduna House of Assembly

Hon. Zailani representing Igabi West Constituency was a deputy to Aminu until he was sworn in hours ago.  The new Speaker is considered a very strong politician who is well connected.

Hon Mukhatar Isa Hazo who represents Bassawa Constituency has emerged the new Deputy Speaker.

A report by The Nation claims that members of the Kaduna Assembly had begun to submit signatures to impeach Aminu. Insiders said he got wind of this information and it made him succumb to pressure and therefore resign honourably.

However, newsmen are yet to ascertain the reason behind the sudden resignation of Shagali.

40-year-old Aminu Abdullahi Shagali became the Speaker of the Kaduna ouse of Assembly on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former speaker is expected to continue his normal duties as a member of the assembly.
