“Amosun Asked Me To Nominate 4 Commissioners, Then Tore The List” – Osoba

Former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba has given more insight into the cause of the strained relationship between himself and incumbent Governor, Ibikunle Amosun.

Osoba said that he spent all the money he had to make Amosun governor on the platform of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in 2011 but Amosun went ahead to humiliate him afterwards.

The 79-year-old Osoba made this known on Friday when the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate, Dapo Abiodun met the Ogun State leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC).

Thisday quoted Osoba as saying, “I don’t want to denigrate the office of governor because Amosun is still in saddle.

“I am proud to say that, when Amosun contested in 2011 on AC platform, I spent all the money that I had on me to make him governor.

“He requested for four commissioner nominees from me and I took the list to him in his office. Thank God, Leke Adewolu was on seat that very day.

“The only regret I had was that I gave him the list containing the four names and he tore it in my presence. He now asked me to write a fresh one and bring it to him. And I looked stupid. That was my only regret.”

While Osoba is actively supporting Abiodun, Amosun has thrown his weight behind the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate, Adekunle Akinlade, who lost the APC gubernatorial ticket to Abiodun.
