Andrea Pirlo is an Italian legend, World Cup winner and all round great guy.

He also arguably the best set-piece taker of all time. While you could make a case for David Beckham and Juninho, Pirlo was as graceful as they come.

The veteran will not be playing in this world cup as he’s retired and even if he hadn’t, Italy failed to qualify, hence, they aren’t going to be in Russia.

When asked about the 3 best Free-kick takers in the world, the Juventus legend said; “At the moment the three best free-kick takers in the world are Lionel Messi, Miralem Pjanic and Paulo Dybala,”

“All three of them take free-kicks very well.”

Messi is currently the holder of the most goals scored from free-kicks over the last 3 years with 16.

Pirlo also had some words to spare of his Italian teammate, Mario Balotelli who was recently reassimilated into the Italian football fold.

Pirlo is happy for the controversial forward saying: “I am really happy that Balotelli is back playing for the Italy national team,

“He’s been playing really well in the past two years and he deserves the recall

“I don’t know which club Balotelli is going to be playing for next season but I am sure that a lot of big clubs are going to be after him. It is up to him to choose himself the best option.”
