Veteran actor, Sam Obiago aka Daddy Sam is dead.
National President of the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas announced Obiago’s demise on Thursday.
Taking to Instagram, Rollas shared a photo of the actor with the caption: “Another sad day. RIP Daddy Sam.”
The Herald gathered that the actor and filmmaker had been ill for a while but his condition took a dangerous turn on Wednesday and he was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died in the early hours of today.
Obiago, who was Chairman of Screen Writers Guild of Nigeria (SWGN), appeared in no fewer than 100 films in his illustrious career.
Some of his notable works are, Tears Of A King, Woman Of Fire, Ghana Island, Royal Turning Point, Royal Appointment, and Bargain.
Some notable actors that died in 2021 included Babatunde Omidina aka Baba Suwe, Rachel Oniga, Sadiq Daba, Bruno Iwuoha, Rich Oganiru, and Victor Olaotan.
