The All Progressives Congress Progressive Youth Council says it will disclose identities of party members behind the call for President Muhammadu Buhari’s resignation.

The group that made this known on Monday, February 3, claimed that some party members in the National Assembly were behind the recent call for President Buhari’s resignation.

In a statement signed by the council’s president, Sanusi Sheriff, the APC youth wing cautioned those distributing money to lawmakers in order to oust President Buhari to desist from such acts.

Sheriff said those behind the plot are desperate politicians hiding in the National Assembly to pursue their dream of becoming vice president anytime soon.

He said: “The APC Progressive Youth Council is aware that some supposed members of the APC are also in bed with the political merchants and distractors by whose actions have indicated that their loyalty is to their pockets and not to the party with which that gained relevance and prominence.”

According to the council, the president’s achievements speak for itself and no amount of mischief can bring him down.

Earlier, The Herald reported that the Senate Minority Leader, Sen. Enyinnaya Abaribe, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately resign over his inability to curtail the security challenges bedevilling the nation.

The Abia South senator made the call on Wednesday while contributing to a motion sponsored by the Majority Leader, Sen. Yahaya Abdullahi. Abdullahi’s motion centred on rising insecurity in the country.

Abaribe described the Buhari administration’s attitude towards insecurity in the country as surprising, saying that the president has proved incapable of solving the challenges.

According to him, the Federal Government under Buhari has continued to claim defeat of Boko Haram while the terror group continues to kill and maim Nigerians.

The senator added that because of this “propaganda”, the hard work that should be put in to contain the menace has not been done.

He added that since the All Progressives Congress (APC) has decided to live by propaganda, the party must prepare to die by propaganda. He said: “Those who live on propaganda shall die by propaganda.

“Defeat is staring us on the face. “Nigerians did not elect the Chief of Staff, Nigerians did not elect heads of Security, Nigerians elected President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and in 2019.
