Fresh facts just emerged that the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) is planning to welcome three northern Governors who have been members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

According to online reports, the planned defection would see about 30 Senators and 70 House of Representative members move to the opposition party at the same time.

The governors include Abdulfatah of Kwara state, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State and Samuel Ortom of Benue State.

The report further reveals that ‘’Aminu Tambuwal is nursing a presidential ambition’’.

Also, Governor Ahmed, who is concluding his second term in Kwara, is planning to run for the senate.

“Ortom, on his own part, has been guaranteed safe return to the PDP by Senator David Mark.

According to David Mark, “He is considered the best bet in the circumstance as the incumbent governor, and he can leave the party to George Akume,” he said.

The report also quotes some southern Governors as saying “The plan also is that some APC governors will not defect but will remain behind to wreak serious damage on the party from within.”

It may interest you to know that this development is not unconnected to the recent crisis rocking the party.
