APC Postpones Bayelsa Guber Primary

The All Progressives Congress has postponed Bayelsa Gubernatorial primary earlier scheduled for Saturday September 19, 2015 to Tuesday, September 22, 2015.

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Mr. Timi Frank in a statement explained that the directive came from the the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun.

He said “I am directed to inform the Bayelsa State executive committee of the APC, all APC governorship aspirants and all our teaming members and supporters in the state that the governorship primaries earlier scheduled for Saturday the 19th will now hold on Tuesday, September 22, 2015.

“The venue and time for the exercise remain unchanged.”

Furthermore, some members of the committee for the Bayelsa State governorship of the APC led by Edo State Governor have reportedly asked the party to beef up security at the venue of the primary.

Hon. Chinedu Eluemunoh said We are worried about the volatile environment where the primary election will take place, we are of the hope that adequate security will be provided in the course of discharging our duties.”

While responding the National Organising Secretary of the party, Osita Izunaso, who inaugurated the committee assured the committee members that the police and state security service will be available to ensure the safety of lives and properties.
